Daikin VAM

Daikin VAM is a name synonymous with highly efficient commercial heat recovery ventilation or HRV technologies, respected for their ingenuity, reliability, and energy saving benefits.

Daikin VAM Units

Daikin VAM units supply fresh, filtered air from a building’s exterior whilst simultaneously extracting stale air from a building’s interior, reclaiming heat energy that may otherwise have been lost in the process.

Each Daikin VAM heat recovery unit contains a pair of bi-directional heat exchangers which recover lost energy from extracted air and use that energy to heat or cool the supply of fresh air from outside, reducing the temperature differential between the fresh air being injected into the building and the stale air being extracted. In turn, this process helps to reduce the amount of energy being used by heating and cooling systems by up to 73% when compared to ventilation systems that do not incorporate any heat recovery technology. Daikin VAM units also provide moisture recovery to help regulate internal humidity, support a range of particulate filters dependent upon the client’s requirements, and can be integrated with both Daikin Sky Air and Daikin VRV systems, or configured to operate as a stand-alone heat recovery unit.

Daikin VAM-FC Units

Daikin VAM-FC units are better suited to smaller commercial applications requiring airflows between 150 and 250 m3/h and currently available in two models, the Daikin VAM150FCVE, and the Daikin VAM250FCVE. The primary differences between the two units being the volumes of air they supply and the amount of energy they use.

Daikin VAM-FC Features:

  • Energy saving ventilation using indoor heating, cooling and moisture recovery.
  • Free cooling is possible when the outdoor temperature is below the indoor temperature (e.g. during night-time).
  • Prevent energy losses from over-ventilation while improving indoor air quality with optional CO2 sensor.
  • Optional medium and fine dust filters ePM10 70% (M6), ePM1 55% (F7), ePM1 70% (F8) to meet customer request or legislation.
  • Shorter installation time thanks to easy adjustment of nominal air flow rate, so less need for dampers when compared with traditional installations.
  • Ideal solution for shops, restaurants or offices requiring maximum floor space for furniture, decorations, and fittings.
  • Reduced energy consumption thanks to a cleverly developed DC fan motor.
  • Can be used as standalone unit or integrated with Daikin Sky Air or Daikin VRV systems.
  • Heat exchanger with High Efficiency Paper (HEP) element.
  • No drainage piping needed.
  • Can operate in over and under pressure conditions.
  • Total fresh air solution with optional electrical heater.

Daikin VAM-J Units

Daikin VAM-J units are suitable for most commercial applications requiring airflows up to 2000m3/h and are currently available in a range of seven models which include the Daikin VAM350J, the Daikin VAM500J, the Daikin VAM650J, the Daikin VAM800J, the Daikin VAM1000J, the Daikin VAM1500J, and the Daikin VAM2000J. The primary differences between the units being the volumes of air they can process, ductwork sizing and the amount of energy they use.

Daikin VAM-J Features:

  • Energy saving ventilation using indoor heating, cooling, and moisture recovery.
  • Ideal solution for shops, restaurants or offices requiring maximum floor space for furniture, decorations, and fittings.
  • Free cooling possible when outdoor temperature is below the indoor temperature (e.g. during night-time).
  • Reduced energy consumption via a highly developed DC fan motor.
  • Prevent energy losses from over-ventilation while improving indoor air quality with optional CO2 sensor.
  • Can be used as a standalone unit or integrated with Daikin Sky Air or Daikin VRV systems.
  • Optional medium and fine dust filters M6, F7, F8 to meet customer requirements or legislation.
  • Shorter installation time, due to nominal air flow adjustment via electronic controls, consequently reducing the need for dampers, compared with traditional style installations.
  • Positive and negative pressure settings are available to suit the application.
