Daikin VRV

Daikin VRV is a name synonymous with market leading air conditioning systems for larger, commercial applications, and pitched as the ‘industry standard’ in commercial building climate control.

Since pioneering the very first VRV, or variable refrigerant volume system back in 1982, Daikin have worked tirelessly to perfect their VRV air conditioning systems, whilst consistently setting the standards in relation to commercial building air conditioning systems.

VRV vs VRF

One of the questions we are asked most frequently, in relation to Daikin VRV systems is, “what are the differences between a VRV, and a VRF system?” The answer to this being surprisingly simple, in that Daikin trademarked VRV when they invented the technology, whilst other manufacturers refer to their equivalent technologies as VRF, or variable refrigerant flow systems.

Daikin VRV Energy Efficiency

Daikin VRV systems are highly energy efficient because of how they regulate the flow of refrigerant gas between individual zones or indoor units across an installation. Further to this, Daikin VRV heat recovery systems are also able recover and utilise heat energy from areas of a building being cooled, transferring the recovered heat energy into areas needing to be heated. This helps to better regulate the ambient temperature across a zone, or entire building, maximising energy efficiency and increasing user comfort along the way.

Daikin VRV Outdoor Units

To accommodate varied applications and building types, there are a number of Daikin VRV outdoor units within the VRV range, and these include both ductless and ducted solutions.

All of the Daikin ductless VRV 5 outdoor units utilise the latest Bluevolution technology and include the VRV 5 heat recovery unit, the VRV 5 heat pump unit, and the VRV 5 S-series mini VRV unit. Further to this, Daikin also provide a water-cooled solution by way of their VRV + series outdoor unit, and a ducted solution by way of their VRV IV I-series outdoor unit. This range of options facilitates a wide range of applications and a discreet installation into most building types.

Daikin VRV Indoor Units

Pairing with their comprehensive range of outdoor units, Daikin also produce a range of VRV compatible indoor units including both concealed and free-standing solutions. These solutions include a range of air curtains, ceiling cassettes, concealed ducted, floor mounted and wall units.
