Daikin Ceiling Unit Installation

Air Options was asked to attend to investigate the opportunities to supply and install an air conditioning system to a small retail / farm shop to extend the products offered to the public.

The building was empty  of a traditional design being a single storey with pitched roof. The roof internally was pitched as opposed to having a dropped suspended ceiling installed which the client was keen to retain given this added great height and light to the interior.

We reviewed the loading’s and design criteria and recommend that the installation had a 4-way cassette type unit installed as manufactured by Daikin. This was from their Sky Air FCQ range of products. These units are traditionally installed within ceiling voids, however in this instance the unit was fitted in an “exposed” format, sitting below the pitched ceiling at high level.

This system offered the best airflow given the 4-way air distribution also having the ability to offer large amounts of heating and cooling from a single unit.

Interconnection services where installed with the pitched ceiling, running along the ceiling structural joists to the outdoor unit, located to the side of the building.

Control of the system was via Daikin BRC hard wird remote controller that we positioned behind the customer till area to allow for ease of use, which included 7-day timer function.

Once installed and commissioned the system was fully demonstrated to the client and Operation and Maintenance information given.

This new extended sales / customer area now benefits from both heating and cooling ensuring fresh produce and customers are kept to a comfortable temperature in summer and winter.
